Sim Racing Authority Rule Book
Welcome to the Sim Racing Authority Rule Book, Please make sure to read and understand the rule book. if there is something you don't understand, please contact one of the Admins or the league owner Bobby Cheney. These rules will be enforced and we reserve the right to make changes to this rule book anytime.
Tiebreaker
If we have drivers that end up in a tie for a chase spot or a spot in the final six, we will use in order: wins, top fives, top tens, starts and total incidents for the season to break the tie. If the drivers are still tied, then we will have a coin flip to determine who moves on.
Setups
Sim Racing Authority uses the iRacing baseline setups. The only time we do not use the iRacing fixed setups, is when iRacing does not provide one for us to race. If that happens, we will have a custom setup made for that track. The custom setup will be basic as it gets.
In Game Chat
There will be no flaming/trash talking during any part of the race session. If an admin deems your comments are malicious in any manner you will receive a drive through penalty. If you continue to show malice towards any other drivers/admins you will then receive another drive through. If your vehicle has been damaged and you aren’t able to return to the race you will serve your drive through at the start of the next race. If you have multiple flaming infractions while your car is destroyed, you will receive a drive through penalty for every comment to be served in the following races. These rules apply in game chat/private messages. In game chat is to be used for RACE CHAT ONLY.
Connections
If you have a connection problem (Car Blinking) you will be given an EOL penalty. If it’s so bad that the car is disappearing, you may be asked to park it. If you Alt F-4 out of the race or manually disconnect you will not be allowed to rejoin and get back on the track. We will allow you to rejoin and spectate.
Practice
You should treat practice as if you were in an actual race. There will be no horseplay or intentional wrecking in practice. If an admin sees you violate the practice rules you will be black flagged at the start of the race. You will be given a black flag NOT AN EOL! NO EXCEPTIONS!
Aggressive Driving
If the admin feel that you are driving too aggressive during the race, you will be given a warning, if you continue to race aggressively you will be parked.
Server Issues
If any server issues happen during an SRA league race and we are at the halfway point in the race, then the race will be official. If an issue was to occur and the race was not at the halfway point, then another server will be put up with the number of laps remaining in the race. Some examples of server issues on iRacing: Pace Car glitch, Mass driver fallout from the server (more than half the drivers must fallout) etc....
Intentional Wrecking
If you intentionally wreck somebody for any reason the race admins will determine your punishment.
Appeals
Our Admin Council will hand out penalties if need be. There are different penalties handed out, including but not limited to: DQs, suspension, black flags, point deductions, and lap penalties. If you would like to appeal your punishment, you get to make one appeal to Delonta Ballard ([email protected]). Send him an e-mail or get with him in some other way.
Suspensions
If a driver is suspended for the race, they are not allowed to join the race server and practice. You may join as spectator if you would like. If you join as a spectator and talk on the drivers channel in game, you may be subject to more penalties.
Professional Conduct
Calling out drivers during the race will not be tolerated. This includes: iRacing voice and Text chat and Discord and Text chat. This action is subject to a penalty at the admin discretion.
Negativity will not be tolerated in Discord, iRacing communication channels, Official races, Practice sessions and Social Media. This action is subject to penalty at the Admin's discretion.
During the course of a racing event, Admins are responsible for keeping everything in check. You are required to respect all calls made regardless of being right or wrong at the time. Disrespect towards any admin will be dealt with according to the severity of the incident in question
TeamSpeak
You must be in TeamSpeak to race in any Sim Racing Authority league race. You are required to be in the specified section of TeamSpeak BEFORE GRIDDING STARTS. If you are not in the specified section of TeamSpeak, you will receive a black flag drive through penalty. We also want you to use your full name in TeamSpeak during league races. A black flag drive through penalty will given to drivers who do not set their name as we ask.
